How to convert grams to teaspoons

Teaspoons = grams × 48 ÷ grams per US cup

A US customary cup contains 48 teaspoons, and one tablespoon contains three teaspoons. This makes teaspoons useful for small remainders after a larger gram amount has been converted to cups or tablespoons.

When teaspoons are useful

Small spoon measurements are sensitive to rounding. A difference of half a teaspoon can matter for strong ingredients, so use a scale when the recipe depends on a precise ratio.

The result assumes a level measuring teaspoon. Household eating spoons are not standardized and should not replace proper measuring spoons.
